June Blogging Results and July Goals

Well, I can’t believe June is over. What the heck just happened? Maybe it’s because my kids are home 24/7 now and we have been just goofing off everyday having fun family time. Whatever the reason, I don’t mind it going by quickly. July means a week BEACH trip for us! This particular beach trip is going to be so amazing. Details about our trip will be coming soon so stay tuned!!

But since June is at an end, I wanted to do my monthly blogging and personal recap with you. If you recall from my previous post, I had some time consuming goals in mind, but I also wanted to go easy on myself as well. Summer is a time I like to spend focusing on my kids and having family time, and i am taking that to heart ad not putting TOO much emphasis on my to-do lists.

With that being said, I have been staying up later and later each night trying to keep up with my blogging to-do lists. So let’s see how I did this month for my personal goals..

Personal Goals For June

Cut Back on Yelling

How embarrassing that that is on my goal list 🙄  But I keep it real on my blog and I am not without flaws ok? OK. So did I cut down? I would like to say yes. Yes, I did. I began to realize that the reason I kept blowing up on my kids was because I was being too hard on myself for other things going on in my life. And that negative energy was reflecting in my home. But since realizing my attitude had to change, it has steadily been getting better. I cannot stress how important a mom’s role in the house is.

Cut Back on Sugar

Well, I feel like I could’ve eaten a lot MORE sugar so this one is also a win! Lol, again keeping it real, I should’ve done better with this one.. sigh…It’s hard when you have to admit your failures every month. I told you last month I have a serious sweet tooth, so this is harder than you may think.

Share Bible Verses Daily With my Kids

I did not do this. And it really seems like the easiest thing to do. But I have been reading the Bible every day for myself and that is a great accomplishment. I need one of those cute chalkboards to write them on every morning. Officially on my to-do list!

Blogging Goals For June

Pinterest Cleanup

My Pinterest account is still a work in progress, but it is coming along! I went and deleted a ton of pins that were just not getting any traffic or movement at all. And just recently I have been starting to work on my pins for my posts to get them looking a lot more professional. And I’m getting the hang of it. But the whole process is a huge time sucker.

20k Pageviews

You guys, I did it! I got over 20,000 page views in June. To be exact, I received 20,707 page views. So really I just want to say a huge thank you for being so supportive and for continuing to check my blog out!

Consistent Look

Like I said earlier, I am working on the looks of my pins, as well as the media in general for my blog. You have to get more consistent when it comes to the images on your blog or it will end up looking very unprofessional. So still a work in progress, but I’m happy with where it’s heading..

Personal Goals For July

Relaxation Time and a Killer Tan

This month is about soaking up God’s incredible beauty at the beach. We will be there for 6 days and I am so excited to finally have time to read and relax! Praying my insanely white skin doesn’t instantly turn red! Who am I kidding, it always does, even with pounds of sunscreen.

Slow Cooker Meals/ Meal Prep

I’d like to focus more on freezer meals and preparing them in advance this month. I did this a year or so ago and it was a life saver. Never having to worry about what’s for dinner is such a stress squasher! I love that there are so many ideas on Pinterest too..

Blogging Goals For July

Take Advantage of Social Sharing Platforms

Bloggers love using social media sharing platforms like buffer, coschedule, and hootsuite. While I will admit I have tried these, I’ve never stuck with them and really utilized them in ways that I could be. So I’d like to get better acquainted with one of these platforms and see what happens. (Results will be posted next month in a separate post.)

Get Some Guest Bloggers Scheduled

Since I am trying to take a relaxing approach this summer, I’d love to get some guest posts going on up in here. If you are interested, use the contact me form. I am open to all parenting, lifestyle, faith based, or summer related posts.

Growth Opportunities

Normally, I get contacted multiple times a week by companies and people looking to collaborate and work with me. But rarely does that turn into anything. What I would like to do is start reaching out to the companies I really want to work with. Having a great Media Kit is what makes this successful. (Media Kit how-to coming soon) If you lay it all out there for them and show them what you will bring to the table, you’ll get work.

There you have it guys. It’s been a great month for me personally and blog wise. It can only get better from here! Always stay focused on the positives, not the hindrances.

What are you planning to work on in July? Any vacations planned? Would you guys like to see separate posts for personal and blogging goals? Or do you like them in the same post? Let me know!

  1. Congrats on hitting 20k pageviews! And great job cutting back on sugar. I also have a GIANT sweet tooth and recently devised this plan to cut out sugar…I posted about it on my blog if you’d like to take a peek, it’s very different from the rest of those strict detox plans! And, trust me, I wouldn’t be posting about it unless it truly worked wonders for me…I just want to help everybody to be their healthiest and happiest! 🙂

  2. I have to admit I haven’t read this entire post, but I will! You and I have some goals in common, so I thank you for sharing your journey. I may just have to use you as encouragement!

    1. Thank you Linda! I’m glad I could be an encouragement for you!!
