So today is a special day because I get to share with you my all time FAVORITE drink. Yes, this drink when purchased at Starbucks guzzles up all our money and I gladly give it up. It’s that good. But since it is quite the expensive drink, I wanted to try making it at home to save some money. And guess what, I’ve basically perfected it! So here we go, the Starbucks copycat Iced Caramel Macchiato. You’re welcome 😉

To start things off you will need a Verismo machine.

My husband bought me mine at Bed Bath and Beyond for a fantastic price. Plus you can find some good deals on Amazon too. So take your time looking and find one that’s on sale! I’m a real stickler for not buying things full price. Lol

The Ingredients

  • Starbucks Vanilla Syrup
  • Ice
  • Milk (I use skim, you can use whichever you prefer)
  • Verismo Espresso
  • Caramel Syrup

Now comes the fun part. Assembling the beautiful drink!

  • Add 5 pumps of Vanilla Syrup to your cup.

  • Then, add enough ice to fill cup 3/4.
  • Followed by adding in however much caramel you like in your drink.

(This is what I like about making it at home, you can make it exactly how you like it.)

  • Now add milk! (Leave room for the espresso shots)

The layering is in full effect now and it is starting to come together. Now we need to get our espresso.

There are lots of different variations of Espresso that Starbucks makes. I like the original.

*A venti at Starbucks has 3 espresso shots. I use ONE pod and made 3 shots out of it. The whole purpose of making it at home is to save money. If I use 3 pods to make 3 shots, I am basically spending almost what it costs at the store. So I make my pods stretch to three shots. And the taste is pretty spot on. If you like it stronger, use 2 pods to make your 3-4 shots. But you don’t need more than 2 for sure!*

  • Poor the shots in. Slowly to get a better layering effect.

  • Add a tad bit more caramel on top to your liking and voila.

There you have your beautiful Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato!

    1. You don’t need a fancy machine, I got this one on clearance for $30! You can find good deals 😉

  3. Rosey

I love these in the store. Making a copycat version at home would be even better because it would save me a small fortune (those drinks add up).

  4. Thanks for the great recipe. I am curious as to what you think about the coffee iced cubes that Starbucks is going to be adding to it’s drinks in certain locations this summer? Do you think this is a good idea?

    1. So I actually hadn’t heard this until now! I looked it up and I think it’s a very cool idea. There is nothing I hate more than my drink getting watery. But making it an $0.80 add on seems steep to me. I’m already paying $5.25 for my venti drink. Paying over $6 for one drink is beyond ridiculous. Lol
