April Results and May Goals

Hey guys, so now that April is over, I wanted to do a quick recap of the goals I set for myself this past month and see how I did.

I really like having the accountability of my blog. It is definitely a push to keep moving forward! I think not having the accountability makes it a lot more difficult to succeed. Don’t you guys agree? Okay, let’s get started. Here are my results for April…

  • To get outside and walk more.

I think I succeeded in this! I walked a lot more since the weather was perfection this past month. 60’s and 70’s. Unfortunately now, we are hitting the 90’s. Gotta love central California!

  • Cooking more.

Unfortunately, I failed miserably with this one. Really haven’t cooked anything fantastic this past month. BUT huge update in this house- hubby is back home! Which means I’ll get some nice home cooked food again! LOL

  • Changing my attitude.

I think I’ve done fairly well with this one. We had some really great answers to prayer this past month and it’s quite difficult to be grumpy when God has blessed you so much!

  • Pray more with my kids.

I did try and pray more with my kiddos. Being able to show them prayer is not only for when you are in need or are thanking God for something, prayer should be constant. I loved sharing that with them.

  • Cut back on Starbucks.

*Head down* Not gonna lie, I failed pretty miserably at this one. I think I skipped my usual drink maybe a few days out of the month, but other than that starbucks was on the menu. Sheesh. This one is hard to admit. My husband HATES that I get it so much, lol. It’s a money guzzler that’s for sure.

  • Get more sponsored posts.

I thought I was going to be lagging with this one, but fortunately at the very end of the month I received two huge opportunities! Just for those two posts I’ll be making $450. In addition to those two posts, I had one social media sponsored post as well. Bringing my total sponsored post income for April to $470. Not bad, but not totally where I’d like to be.

  • Improve photography skills.

I’m still working on this one. We did travel to Northern California the beginning of April where I got to take a lot of photos, which was good practice.

  • Plan out my blog posts each month.

Last month was kind of an eye opener for me. I sat down, wrote out my blog post ideas and thought it looked fantastic! As the month progressed, I found myself posting completely different posts than what I planned. Life happened and I just wrote what was appropriate at the time. So honestly, I don’t know how much planning out posts helped. I wrote what was on my heart at the time, and that seemed to work out very well.

*May Goals*

Personal Goals

  • Hit the gym AT LEAST 4 times a week. 

Since my husband is finally back home, I can get back to focusing on my fitness. Yes, I can exercise at home, but that is so hard when your bed is right there! I have gotten back into the routine of the gym and it is making a huge difference in how I see myself and how I feel. It is an energy booster, a mood enhancer, and a confidence booster.

  • Drink less Starbucks. 

Yes, I’m attempting this yet again. At some point I will succeed! I have already prepared myself by purchasing some verismo pods so I can make my usual drink at home. Which will help a lot.

  • Drink more water.

It makes such a huge difference in how I feel and I wish I did it more often! So here’s to trying to drink a lot more water everyday.

Blog Goals

  • Continue to get sponsored posts.

I did great this last month and I’d like to continue to see at least 2 sponsored opportunities every month. It contributes to my blog income and gives my blog some diversity which I love 🙂

  • Post 2-3 times a week.

Posting this often can be difficult only because I can’t find the time to get the work done. With 3 kids, it can be difficult. But it is something  I am always working on. And I want more consistency for my readers.

  • Clean up my Pinterest Account. Make it look consistent.

This is something I’ve known needed to be done, but just haven’t had the time. But I hear more and more that Pinterest is where the traffic is at. So I need to make this a priority this month!

  • Update my “About Page”.

I started my blog 2 years ago and a lot has changed since then. Even my view of blogging. So this needs to be updated pronto. The About Page is very important, so I don’t want to rush it!

  • Grow my Subscribers list.

This has never been one of my top priorities for my blog because I never saw much traffic from emails I’d send out. However, I think it would help in the long run, IF I can get my numbers of subscribers up.
