Quote of the Day

One of my favorite ways to keep in the Word is with my Bible app. It provides you with daily Bible verses to read and not only that but they have a plethora of reading plans and devotionals you can start. It makes reading the Bible everyday so much easier and convenient. It’s right there at your fingertips. So no excuses!

Psalm 34:8 Taste and See that the Lord is good. Bible Verse of the day.

Today this wonderful verse came up and I couldn’t help but smile.

“O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”

I take refuge in my God on a daily basis. Because when I don’t, I start wandering down into a dark, depressing state. And it may not be that severe everyday, but it is a slippery slope. When you let yourself begin to forget about God, when you let yourself make excuses to why your not reading the Bible everyday or praying, it gets easier and easier to get further away from Him.

When we try to handle obstacles on our own, what we are essentially doing is pushing God away. He is there to help us get through anything and everything. We must take refuge in Him.

Right now, I find myself in a stressful time in my life. My husband works and lives 4 hours away and is gone most days. He doesn’t get to see the kids or myself very often. We are trying to figure out if God wants us to move or stay put. Everything is stressful, everything is hard, and I wish this part was just over.

But then I read this verse and get reminded that I have a God who loves me and cares about me and cares about what my family is going through.

Whatever you’re going through, just remember it won’t always be like this. It will get better. It always does. Maybe God makes you wait for a few months, or even years, but He will answer your prayers. Whether it’s a yes or a no, He will answer.
